Josh is such a quitter!

This time it's ok to be a quitter though. :)

A year ago today Josh officially quit smoking. It was one of the hardest weeks that we have ever been through as a couple. Things were thrown that shouldn't have been thrown. Things were yelled that shouldn't have been yelled. Things were broken that shouldn't have been broken. And things were spilled that shouldn't have been spilled (stupid almost white carpets that stain easily). We made it through and the both of us came out for the better.

He went through hypnosis to quit smoking. I was very skeptical. He tried this a few years ago but it didn't work the first time. The 2nd time was the charm. Not to mention, he actually had a desire and reasons to quit this time.

I could not be more proud of him. As bad as it sounds, I didn't think he could do it. He certainly proved me wrong. He smoked for 12 or 13 years. By the time he quit, he was up to almost 2 packs a day. We would spend close to $300 a month on cigarettes when we were both smoking. Imagine how rich we felt when we both quit! He has a little counter on his laptop. In the last year, he would have smoked close to 14,000 cigarettes. It would actually probably be more than that since we always smoked a lot more when we were on the lake during the summer.

January 5th marks 1 year for me. You can read more about me quitting here.

We feel so much better and we now know and feel like we will be able to provide the best possible environment for our children to grow up in.

  1. Congrats to you both on quitting!!!! I did that 2 years ago. It is hard and I am glad you both stayed on track!

  2. I just read your story about quitting too. Way to go, both of you! You are doing what is best for your own lives and the lives of your future children. And it just shows the strength of your relationship that you made it through and came out on the other end stronger than ever!
    Love ya, lady!
