Wishful Wednesday

I would love to have:

These by Jessica Simpson
and these by Nine West

I am such a shoe person!

Tomorrow is family portrait day. It should make for an interesting day. We haven't had a family portrait done since I was 4 years old.

Our first attempt at Curb Appeal

I don't know why I was so nervous about gardening. It was so much fun and easy. The weather was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Before pictures

This hole was so aggravating and seemed like it was out of place.

The railing needed to be re-painted very badly.

The front yard was a mess while we were in the process. By this time, I had already sanded all the rails down and re-painted them. They look SO much better.

After pictures

The Flowers

I love these. They are Gerber Daisies.

This is called a Pink Flowering Almond. It should grow about 5 feet tall. If you can't tell, it went into that awkward box area.
Overall, I am pleased with the outcome. I can't wait for the grass to grow in even. We seeded it and patched some of the holes. I will more then likely plant some flowers to add some color. I still feel like it is a little bland. I hope the "mini-tree", as I call it, grows in to be the full 5 feet. I think it will add a lot to the front of the house.

I really hope that I don't kill the flowers. I have never had plants and I didn't grow up with plants so this is a whole new adventure.

If Josh ever finds out...

that I have been listening to talk radio he will never let me live it down. I always made fun of him for listening to it constantly and absolutely hated it when I was in the truck with him. In reality, I had never given it a chance. Music is such a big part of my life (even though I can't carry a tune in a bucket), I never thought in a million years that I would be turning the music off in my car and at work and listening to 99.7 WTN instead.

Well let me tell you that Mr. Michael DelGirorno and Mr. Phil Valentine are amazing, hilarious people. Not to mention, I have learned more about what is going on in our country from them then I ever did from the nightly news. I listen on my way to work, all day at work, and on the way home. It's like I can't turn it off. I am so interested to hear what they have to say. I have listened to them for a week now and I don't plan to stop anytime soon.

Perhaps the best part is listening to Dave Ramsey from 1-4. A gentleman called in today and said that he and his wife are debt free. They had about $80,000 in debt and got out of it in about 2 years. Josh has been listening to him for several months now and is officially out of debt (except the mortgage) and we are now working on my debt. I have no where close to $80,000 in debt, but I have a pretty little penny. No child should ever have a credit card at the age of 18!!!! My goal is in the next 1 1/2 years to be completely out of debt. I can't wait to call Dave's show and yell, like an idiot, on air that I'm debt free... (its a part of his Friday show...all people recently out of debt can call the show and yell..."I'm debt free").

Thankful Thursday

Today begins Thankful Thursday

From now on, *hopefully* each Thursday will be Thankful Thursday. I will name things that I am thankful for on that day.

Today is rather cliche.

I am thankful for my husband.

I am thankful for my brothers.

I am thankful for my parents.

Finally...
I am thankful for my BFF

Without these people, I would not be where or who I am today. I love them so much!
Who are you thankful for?

Wishful Wednesday

From now on Wednesday is officially Wishful Wednesday!

Starting today and most Wednesdays to follow, I will post what I wish I could get/have or simply thoughts that I wish would happen such as I wish for world peace (blah...had to pull out a pageant stereotype somewhere in this blog). As Josh has always said, I want and want and want but can't always get.

Maybe Josh will stumble across this blog and decide to be nice every once in a while :)

Today's wish is a Pandora Charm Bracelet. A few months ago, a fellow bumpie posted that her husband had gotten this for her and I have loved them ever since.

You can go to their website here.

This is the bracelet itself.

There are about 600 charms to choose from depending on what type of bracelet and if you want to mix metals.

I quickly narrowed my choices down to these few charms to start with.

So that seems like more then a few, but it was hard to even narrow it down to those to put on here. I searched for a crown charm, but couldn't find one. I should probably write the Pandora people and tell them to make one ASAP.

Now...maybe if I casually leave my laptop open to my blog, Josh will get the hint..
Wishful thinking :)

Have a great rest of the day everyone!

Blah...

The last couple of days have been crap. I can't catch a break to save my life right now. Doctors suck. My body sucks. Death sucks. Boredom sucks. Dirty houses suck. Sleepless nights suck. Crying sucks. Rain sucks. Need I go further? I think I may just quit why I'm ahead. I think I should just go to sleep for a few days!

Mrs. B- You were a true inspiration to all of the girls in TTI. You have a special place in my heart. You never let me down and you always pushed me to be a better person. You will truly be missed. I love you! I know your in Heaven looking down making sure that I am doing everything the way a lady should and making sure that I have my lipstick on.

At her reunion dinner in December 2009.

She was with me, pushed me, coached, and supported me at Miss Tennessee 2007.

Josh tried making the the last couple of days better by telling me that we could finally get some curb appeal. We had gone to Lowe's yesterday and picked everything out and was going to plant and really get the outside looking nice. BUT... stupid rain ruined it all!!!! It is not gonna let up at all today. Oh well...it will never get done now.

The only good news I have gotten the last 3 days is that I haven't gained any weight since May 2009. I have stayed at the exact same weight as I was the last time I went to this particular doctor. I was relieved to hear this because I could have sworn that I had gained weight especially since the wedding.

I should probably stop being so negative, but when nothing positive is going on, how in this world will I stay positive. I did do some retail therapy yesterday, so that helped a little BUT... ehhhh...blah....oh well. Too much going on. I'm not even gonna get started on my body and doctors. Just keep me in your prayers please.

Hopefully, next time you hear from me, I will be in a better mood.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

I'm so excited about today. Normally I don't get excited about St. Patrick's Day but this year I am for some reason. I think I am just in a good mood today. I have minor plans for the evening. We are going to go to Toot's for dinner and green beer with some of my favorites. There is never a dull moment with Mr. Dowling around. I'm excited to see Sarah and Teresa too. I think that may be why I am looking forward to tonight. I feel like I haven't seen these ladies in weeks!

I KNOW I am excited because I have one of my favorite pairs of Jessica's on :)

I rarely get to wear these shoes. This is only the 2nd time I have worn them.

I hope everyone has a great day and stays safe! Stay tuned for pictures from tonight. There should be some interesting ones!

Some exciting things...

Some exciting things were accomplished this past weekend that I want to share with you.

First, we got some new furniture for the entertainment/bonus room. We spend all of our time in this room and it is by far not what I would consider an adult/couple room, instead it is more of a bachelor room. So call me redneck if you like, but these recliners are the most comfortable recliners I have ever sat in.
With the help of my brothers fiance, I finally got the office painted. When we decided to paint the office, I had imagined a blue/gray color. I absolutely did not want a freakin' nursery for the office. Well, the twat that works at Lowe's doesn't know how to mix paint, because I have a freakin baby boys nursery.
This wasn't even the room we were gonna use for a nursery. Oh well, I'm too lazy to paint again, so if we have a baby boy first, we will already be 1 step ahead of the game.

On a happier note, after $180 and 20 months later, I finally got these things framed. We got these at the Daytona Speedway when we went in 2008. They are an odd size and did not come framed. We paid $120 alone for the stupid frames, but it is so worth it to have them on the wall in the entertainment room. I love me some Dale Jr.
There is still some more projects I have in mind for the house, luckily all the painting is done. I'm excited for the future and can't wait to see what's in store for Josh and I.

Hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day. Be safe!

If I knew then...

what I know now, I would have:

*gone to the party after my senior prom...actually I would have gone to a high school party...period
*never gotten that credit card when I turned 18
*stayed friends with you instead
*payed attention when she was making the best spaghetti ever...oh the things I would do for some of her spaghetti right now.
*prepared a lot more for Miss Tennessee
*gotten braces earlier in life
*never gone to Lipscomb for part of my college...they screwed me over big time!
*never went behind your back because it wrecked a gorgeous truck!
*taken a computer class
*never babysat his daughter that night
*never told her so much about my personal life or my family's business
*hired someone to paint my living room
*done what I did sooner

and finally...

If I knew then what I know now, I would have....

*had a hell of a lot more fun from 2003- 2007 and I definitely wouldn't have begged to go to Wendy's on White Bridge Road all the time.

I'm such a Slacker...

It's official...I'm a horrible blogger! I really am down right horrible with this mess. I should be punished for slacking so much, but in my defense...I am newly married and have been pretty busy.
If it wasn't for the ladies of an online community that I have become devoted to over the last few months, I wouldn't have even thought twice about getting back into the blogging world. I started thinking the other morning on my way to work that I needed to start getting back into this, so here I am....again...but I'm gonna stay this time...promise!

There hasn't been a lot going on in my world, other then the wedding. It was perfect. My dad performed the ceremony and did such a great job. Between Josh and my dad, there was no way they were gonna let me cry. Josh made me laugh the entire time and not one tear was shed. Which, is a HUGE deal because I am such a big baby!

Josh and I didn't go on a honeymoon. We are going to wait until sometime later this year to go on a nice vacation. I was really concerned with just going home after the wedding, but Josh surprised me with a stay at the Lowe's Vanderbilt Plaza downtown. We were 1 of 2 suites that had a balcony that overlooked downtown. It was perfect.

I think this shall be all for now. I have a ton of stuff that I want to write about, but I think I will save them for all my other blogs that I will soon be writing. I promise, I will catch up on this blogging thing sooner (or later if I continue to slack).
